Labour and HR Club Q&A

You CAN fire that problem employee!

In only 30 minutes, you can gain the knowledge and power you need to legally dismiss problem employees without being taken to the CCMA.

"Discipline"

I have a sales person who works from home, on Thursday I sent an email explaining that if the sales targets are not being met since his inception (February) and asking for a strategy on how he plans to make target. Friday I could not get hold of him and Monday he didn't answer his phone. On Monday night I received a message stating that the phone had broken on Friday and therefore he couldn't contact me. I replied that we would be issuing a warning. On Tuesday he sent a doctors note saying that he hurt his back on Tuesday and is booked off until Friday - please can someone advise me on how I should proceed?
