"Unauthorised use of company vehicle"

Good day

Could you please assist me with the following.
One of our employees decided that he will take our company bakkie for a joy ride on Friday evening.

From the tracker installed it surely looks like they did some pub crawling but I cant say fore sure that they where drinking.

What actions can we take and what will the procedure be?

They are fully aware that they are not allowed to take company property without prior authorization.

Good day Calcamite

Your query has reference. This is a serious offence therefore firstly you should consult your company disciplinary code on this misconduct and the penalty thereof. Due to the seriousness of the offence it would be suggested that this employee be issued with a notice to attend a disciplinary hearing, chaired by a independent chairperson. The outcome could be final written warning subject that this is the first offence of similar nature.
