Week 3:Mon,Tue(7am-6pm) ....same as week 1 again.
Total hours work for the month amounts to 154.
The problem is they only work 3 days(excluding Sat & Sun) in WK1 and 2 days in WK2. When they take off sick on a Fri,Sat & Sun in WK 1 they only come back to work the Wed which in fact results in them being off for 5 days before resuming work again. similarly if they take off on the Wed & Thur in WK2.
Can one insist on a sick certificate in WK1 (Fri,Sat,Sun)? and how would one handle the WK2 sick scenario. Or just plain and simple, how would one handle sick leave in a shift environment like this.
It is a system we have that is open for abuse and the LRA does not quite guide you when there is shift work such as this involved. Your view please.
