"Converting contract employment into permanent employment"
I am appointed on a fixed term contract at a local municipality in SA. The position was on the organogram as a contract position but the council decided to change it into a permanent position and this was approved by a full Council and the organogram has been amended to show it as a permanent position.
Can my contract be converted into a permanent position or does the permanent post have to be advertised first?
If the latter is true; can the post be advertised before my current contract expires or only after it has expired?
