Labour and HR Club Q&A
I work in one of the Science Councils and our company is one of the companies that host interns which are recruited by the mother body (Science and Technology). These interns have access to all our network, attend our meetings and any other events, drive in our company cars as passengers and are privy to all the internal information.
Our company has advertised for two junior positions internally; I would therefore like to know if we can consider applications from these interns that we are hosting, even thought they are not on our payroll system? Remember this is an internal advert, but they are sitting with us and having access to all other information. Must we exclude them? Is it fair or unfair not to consider their applications, because they are referred to as "external applicants" and not "internal applicants"
